Natural Rubber Latex Cohesive

Excellent adhesion and elasticity. Traditional format widely available. Lower cost per unit. The cohesive adhesive — not the fabric — is the latex source.

⚠️ Contraindicated for latex-sensitive patients. Latex allergy prevalence ~1–6% general population; higher in healthcare workers. Many EU hospital policies now mandate institution-wide latex-free. Requires patient screening before use.

Always specify "unstretched length 4.5 m" in purchase orders. Some suppliers quote stretched length (which can be 2× unstretched or more). "5 yards" (North American format) = 4.57 m unstretched — effectively equivalent. Kingphar quotes unstretched length on all product documentation.

Cohesive bandages are non-sterile secondary dressings. Always apply a primary wound dressing (non-adherent pad, island dressing, gauze) first, then secure with cohesive bandage over the top. Do not apply cohesive bandage directly to an open wound bed.
