High elastic bandages claiming a specific BS 7505 compression class or mmHg output are Class IIa medical devices under EU MDR 2017/745 — requiring Notified Body involvement and clinical validation. A Class I CE certificate does not validate compression claims. For therapeutic compression procurement (venous ulcers, lymphoedema, DVT prophylaxis), confirm Class IIa with Notified Body name and number on the CE certificate. Long-stretch (≥140%) extensibility with high elastic recovery from integrated elastic yarns. Maintains compression over time — elastic yarns continuously recoil. Fundamental clinical difference from crepe bandage which loses tension during wear.

Graduated Compression for Ambulatory Patients

High resting pressure provides sustained compression during patient activity and rest. Conforms to irregular anatomical contours including heel, ankle, and lower leg. Preferred format for ambulatory venous compression therapy.

Full Width Range 5–15 cm

5 cm (finger/toe), 7.5 cm (wrist/forearm), 10 cm (ankle/lower leg — most common for compression therapy), 15 cm (knee/thigh). Standard lengths 4 m and 5 m. Multiple widths available for full-limb graduated compression application.
