Full-Body Barrier Performance for Every Risk Level
Isolation gowns differ from surgical gowns in one critical way: the entire gown — front AND back — is the critical zone. Every specification below reflects this full-coverage protection requirement.
Full-Body Critical Zone
Front, back, and seams all meet the AAMI level barrier requirement. Unlike surgical gowns where only the front is critical, isolation gowns protect against exposure from any direction.
SMS Breathable Fabric
Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond three-layer construction balances fluid barrier performance with breathability for extended wear. Available 25–40 GSM for Level 1 through Level 3.
Knit Cuff Design
Elastic knit wrist cuffs conform to the wearer and prevent sleeve riding. Maintains consistent coverage during patient care activities. Standard feature on hospital-grade gowns.
Back Tie Closure
Tie at neck and waist for adjustable fit across body types. Back opening allows easy doffing without contaminating the front of the gown — essential for safe removal in isolation settings.
Universal S–3XL Sizing
Full size range for varied staff body types. Universal-fit options (one size fits most) available for emergency settings where pre-sorted sizes are impractical.
Latex-Free · Anti-Static
No natural rubber latex. Anti-static treatment available for Level 3–4 materials. Safe for latex-sensitive patients and staff. CE / FDA / SFDA documentation complete.
Choose the Right Protection Level
Level determines material and test requirement. Specify the AAMI level appropriate to your highest-risk procedure. Hospitals typically stock multiple levels.
Standard medical units, visitor gowns, minimal fluid exposure. PP or SMS 25 GSM.
Some fluid splatter expected. SMS 25–35 GSM or CPE 25g.
Significant fluid exposure. SMS 40 GSM or PP+PE. Recommended ED standard.
Only level with viral penetration testing (ASTM F1671). PP+PE or anti-static composite.
Four Fabric Types
Material selection determines barrier performance, breathability, and cost. Match material to AAMI level requirement.
PP Spunbond (25 GSM)
Single-layer polypropylene. Lightweight, economical, breathable. For minimal fluid exposure — visitor gowns, standard ward use.
SMS (25–40 GSM)
Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond three-layer. Industry standard — balances barrier, breathability, and cost. Available 25 GSM (L1–2) through 40 GSM (L3).
CPE Film (25g)
Cast polyethylene — maximum waterproofing. Less breathable than SMS. Suitable for high-moisture short procedures or strong fluid resistance requirement.
PP+PE Composite
Polypropylene coated with polyethylene film, or anti-static PP+PE. Enhanced barrier performance for Level 3–4 certification. Highest fluid resistance.
